Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation Informational and Fundraising Brochure
Client/Context: Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation (BTCF) – A 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2007, dedicated to promoting tennis through education and community engagement, with a strong focus on youth and disabled persons. Since its inception, BTCF has disbursed over $70,000 to support various reputable tennis programs and individuals in the community.
Objective: To design a compelling and comprehensive brochure/mailer that effectively communicates the mission, impact, and programs of the Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation. The primary goal was to encourage donations by conveying trustworthiness, inspiring support for the growth and spirit of tennis, and clearly outlining the various contribution methods.
My Role: Brochure Designer
Design Concept & Rationale: The central concept for this brochure was to create a professional and engaging layout that clearly distinguishes informational content from donation mechanics, while consistently reinforcing the foundation's dedication to tennis and community betterment. The design aimed for a clean, accessible aesthetic that is easy to navigate and inspires confidence in the organization's mission.
Imagery: The brochure utilizes a key action shot of a tennis player to immediately convey the dynamic nature of the sport and connect with the target audience. The prominent display of the Berkeley Tennis Club Foundation logo on the front panel establishes brand identity and trustworthiness. The integration of a donation form with clear fields and a barcode on the back panel serves its functional purpose while maintaining a professional appearance.
Color Palette: A dominant rich green (likely representing tennis courts and the vitality of the sport) is used for key panels and headings, providing a strong brand identity and a professional feel. This is complemented by crisp white text and background elements for maximum readability and a clean aesthetic.
Typography: Clear, legible sans-serif typefaces are employed for body text and informational sections, ensuring easy readability of program details and mission statements. Headlines and key call-to-action elements utilize bold, impactful fonts to draw attention and guide the reader's eye, maintaining a professional yet inviting tone.
Layout: The multi-panel layout (presumably a tri-fold or similar) is designed for logical flow of information. It dedicates distinct sections for the foundation's mission and background, a clear list of supported programs, inspiring quotes, and a dedicated, user-friendly donation form. The composition balances text-heavy information with impactful imagery and ample whitespace to prevent visual clutter and enhance the overall user experience.
